
Professor Nicolae George DRÃGULÃNESCU, Ph.D
After having graduated the secondary school (Liceul “I.L.Caragiale” of Bucharest, in 1965), I became - in 1970 - an electronics engineer, as a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications of Polytechnics Institute of Bucharest, Romania.
In 1991 I became a Doctor-Engineer (Ph.D) in Electronics of the same university. Three years later, I graduated – with the mark „TRES BIEN” – a Specialized Master in Quality Management offered by the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris of France. In 1998, I got – with the mark „TRES HONORABLE” -- a second Ph.D title, in Letters and Sciences, offered by the University Paris X of France.
After a 6 year period of essential and useful practical experience, as design/ manufacturing/ quality/ applications engineer within the IEMI Company of Bucharest (1970-1976) – an electronic measuring instruments and radio-communications equipment provider (which enabled me, above all, to familiarize with Quality Management concepts, principles, methods and techniques), I decided to join the academic environment.
Thus, in 1976, I became an Assistant Professor within the faculty I graduated. During the following 27 years, I was successively promoted as tenure track Lecturer (in 1991), Associate Professor (in 1996) and Full Professor (in 2003), within the University Polytechnics of Bucharest.
Between the years 1977-1981 I was a Lecturer of the Telecommunications Institute of Oran, Algeria, between years 1990-1992 I was employed bz the Romanian Government as the President of National Commission for Standardization, Metrology and Quality; during the years 2000-2001 I joined, as a Fulbright Scholar, the University of Pittsburgh, School of Library and Information Science (USA).
I am actually a tenure track Full Professor within the Chair of Applied Electronics and Information Engineering, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology of Polytechnics University of Bucharest, Romania.
My current teaching and research interests include: Electronic Devices and Circuits, Industrial Electronics, Electronic Measuring Instruments, Consumer Electronics, Information Science and Technology, Quality Management,
I am speaking fluently French, English, German and Romanian/ Moldavian.
After 1995, I participated - in Romania and abroad – to some specialization courses, in order to become the holder of following important international professional qualifications/ certifications:

I am a Visiting Professor of Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Electronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA) of Cergy-Pontoise/ France, Institut National des Telecommunications (INT) of Evry/ France, of University of Nantes/ France as well as of University Paris VI/ France.

I wrote and published till 2005 – in Romania and abroad – about 200 works (including about 40 books and textbooks).
In 1994, the European Foundation for Quality Management, EFQM (Brussels), offered me the EFQM Medal “In Recognition of Your Contribution to Total Quality Management in Europe”.
My biographical record was included since 1998, by each yearly issue of Who’s Who In The World, USA. The certificate attesting this fact in 1998 contains the following statement: „The Marquis Who’s Who Publication Board certifies that Dragulanescu Nicolae George is a subject of a biographical record in Who’s Who in The World, Fifteenth edition, 1998, inclusion in which is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their own fields of endeavor and who have, thereby, contributed significantly to the betterment of contemporary society” |
